Electroencephalography (EEG)

/electroencephalography-eeg/
A non-invasive neuroimaging technique that measures electrical activity in the brain by placing electrodes on the scalp to detect voltage fluctuations resulting from ionic current within neurons. EEG provides excellent temporal resolution for studying brain activity patterns, sleep stages, and neurological conditions.
Example: Monitoring brain waves during sleep to identify REM stages, or detecting seizure activity in epilepsy patients through characteristic electrical patterns.
