A technique for measuring eye movements by recording electrical activity of muscles around the eyes, used in sleep research, attention studies, and neurological assessment to track rapid eye movements and gaze patterns.
Example: Monitoring REM sleep stages by detecting the characteristic rapid eye movements that occur during dream sleep, or studying reading patterns in dyslexia research.
