Emotional Contagion

/emotional-contagion/
The automatic tendency to mimic and synchronize with others' emotional expressions, postures, and behaviors, leading to emotional convergence between individuals. This phenomenon facilitates empathy and social bonding but can also spread negative emotions through groups.
Example: Feeling sad when entering a room where someone is crying, or a baby starting to cry when hearing other babies cry, even without understanding the source of distress.
