Emotional Granularity

/emotional-granularity/
The ability to distinguish between and label different emotional states with precision and specificity, associated with better emotional regulation, mental health, and social functioning. Higher emotional granularity involves richer emotional vocabulary and awareness.
Example: Distinguishing between feeling "frustrated," "disappointed," "anxious," and "overwhelmed" rather than just labeling all negative emotions as "bad" or "upset."
