Equipotentiality

The principle that all stimulus-response associations are equally easy to learn, challenged by findings about biological preparedness and constraints on learning. Modern research shows that organisms are biologically prepared to learn certain associations more easily than others.
Example: Garcia and Koelling's research showing that rats easily learn to associate taste with illness but not taste with shock, contradicting the equipotentiality assumption.
