Existential Anxiety

Deep-seated anxiety arising from awareness of fundamental aspects of human existence such as mortality, freedom, meaninglessness, and isolation. This anxiety motivates the search for meaning and authentic living but can become overwhelming without adequate coping resources.
Example: Mid-life crisis involving anxiety about mortality and life's meaning, or anxiety about making important life decisions due to awareness of freedom and responsibility.
