Experimental Design

/experimental-design/
The systematic planning and structure of research studies to test specific hypotheses while controlling for confounding variables and ensuring valid, reliable results. Good experimental design includes random assignment, control groups, and manipulation of independent variables to establish causal relationships.
Example: A double-blind, placebo-controlled study comparing a new antidepressant to existing treatment, with participants randomly assigned to groups and neither patients nor researchers knowing who receives which treatment.
