Heritability

/heritability/
The proportion of observed variation in a trait within a population that can be attributed to genetic differences, expressed as a percentage that applies to groups rather than individuals.
Example: Intelligence showing approximately 50-80% heritability in adult populations, meaning that much of the variation in IQ scores is due to genetic differences among individuals.
