Diagnostic requirements for elevated mood periods that are clearly different from normal functioning but not severe enough to cause marked impairment or require hospitalization.
Example: At least four days of elevated mood with increased energy, decreased sleep need, and productivity that others notice but doesn't significantly impair functioning.
