Unconscious retention of information that influences behavior without conscious awareness of remembering, including procedural memories, priming effects, and conditioning responses.
Example: Riding a bicycle automatically without consciously remembering how to balance, or feeling uncomfortable around someone without remembering why (previous negative interaction).
