In-Group Bias

The tendency to favor members of one's own group over outsiders, showing preferential treatment, positive evaluation, and loyalty to those perceived as belonging to the same social category.
Example: Sports fans believing their team plays more fairly than opponents, employees giving more positive evaluations to colleagues from their own department, or showing preference for people from their hometown.
